Snowed In

I don't think it's ever happened before, but we were literally snowed into our house today. With an accumulation of somewhere around 12" and a drift just beyond our driveway of about 24", when Nick did try to leave, he got stuck and we had to push the car back (mostly) into the driveway. That just meant that instead of being busy doing all sorts of things outside the house, we got to focus on busyness inside the house.

And occasionally inside-the-house-busyness leads to tickling!

Don't you love that they're making the EXACT same face?!

And sometimes it leads to kissing.

Being snowed in is nice in someways...until we run out of milk.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow!

Last week on Thursday was one of those days when life is just good. Things to do, but nothing extremely pressing outside the house. Good thing too, because it was snowing, which I love, just not when I have to go somewhere. 


So, Alexa and I have been hanging out at the house a lot recently because of the weather. A lot of goofing around, cleaning, and this:

Just staring out the window watching the snow fall. It has been really nice and made me so grateful to be able to be at home with my {not so} baby girl.

Isn't life great?

Watch for Falling Ice

Myth: 4 Russians die from falling icicles every year.
Fact: 5 Russians die from falling icicles every year.

From the Associated Press story entitled "Killer Icicles Terrorize Russians":

"Walking along a Saint Petersburg Street immersed in music, Milana Kashtanova, became the latest victim of falling icicles and ice blocks that have killed five people and injured 147 in the city following Russia's coldest winter in 30 years... [D]uring Russia's springtime thaw, residents are forced to run the gauntlet of snapping icicles and blocks of ice falling unexpectedly from roofs, as well as the ground-level hazards of slippery slush and puddles."

It's sad but at the same time funny.
