Music Monday: Keep Running

So I know I've been a slacker, but hopefully the next two posts make-up for it. I was with family, so family wins over blogging...every. single. time. But I am sorry to neglect the blog as it is therapeutic and helpful for me as well.

I must have listened to this song a billion times just after we found out about our failed adoption. One day in particular I was just bummed. Not sad or depressed, just disappointed, and a bit lost. How was I supposed to not want that beautiful little girl in our family and be happy for the wonderful family she has? So lost.

So I went running, and this song came on my iPod. I'm pretty sure I stopped dead in my tracks and probably shed a tear or two, then kept running. Everything about this song just made sense, so I put it on repeat...for like days.

I had so many people ask "How did you get through it?" or "That must have been awful" or something along those lines. But what was I supposed to do other than keep running?

I love this song, just because of the feelings of love and gratitude in conjures up for our nearly adopted family, and the family that is now ours because we all decided to keep running even when we felt like falling on the ground and sobbing.

We love you Ray and Melissa! Thanks for choosing this life for your precious baby girl. We love her with all our hearts, as we know you do. How nice it is that she has so many people that love her so much they are willing to sacrifice their own comfort and happiness for hers. You're always in our prayers. Can't wait to see you again soon!

It always seems like those little tender mercies come around just when we need them. My husband and I have been married for four years, but haven't been able to have any children. It is really heart breaking sometime, but something always seems to come along to lift us up.

thanks for your inspiring words!
